LASAtronix
The Utopia Optical Compressor is based on the legendary LA-2A studio leveling amplifier—a staple of the recording industry found in countless hits across every genre since the 1960s.
Unlike traditional compressor pedals that rely on FETs or Integrated Circuits (ICs), the LASAtronix uses a specialized optical circuit. It triggers a set of LEDs based on your pick attack, which then sensitize photocells to compress the signal. The result? A smooth, musical, and gradual response that never "kills" your dynamics. Instead, it subtly enhances your signal with a natural feel that other compressors simply can't match.
More than just compression:The LASAtronix features a preamp that captures the distinct character of the LA-2A. It adds a warm, light coloration and rich harmonic distortion to your tone. Even with mild settings, it elevates your sound to new heights, adding that "finished record" vibe to your rig.
Total Control:With the Blend and Hi-Cut controls, you can push the LASAtronix to extreme compression levels without losing balance. Maintain your high-end clarity and mix in your dry signal for perfect parallel compression.

CONTROLS
Blend: Adds uncompressed (dry) signal to the mix as you turn it clockwise. At minimum, you get 100% compressed signal; at maximum, it reaches a perfect 50/50 mix for professional parallel compression.
Hi-cut: Tames the super-high frequencies and harmonics in the compressed signal. Turn it clockwise to roll off the top-end for a smoother, warmer response.
Input: Drives the circuit. Turn it clockwise to increase the input level and the overall amount of compression (gain reduction).
Output: Controls the final output volume. Use it to match your bypassed signal or to push your amp with the LASAtronix's warm preamp.

Every UTOPIA pedal is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty. We’ve got your back: internal components are covered for life. Footswitches, toggles, pots and the finish include a 1-year warranty. In these cases, the owner is only responsible for round-trip shipping costs.
Please note that the warranty is void if the pedal shows signs of misuse—such as using the wrong voltage or polarity, liquid damage, or any unauthorized mods to the original circuit.
